Abstract: A method for streaming a melody selected by a user to a door phone and a home gateway system applied with the method are provided to stream the melody stored by being selected by the user to the door phone through a streaming server if the door phone connected through a home network senses a pressed state of the door phone. A user interface(110) provides an interface for enabling a user to select a desired melody. A memory unit(125) stores the melody selected through the user interface(110). A home gateway interface(130) receives a pressing detection signal generated by sensing a pressing action from a door phone(200). A streaming server(120) streams the pre-stored melody to the door phone(200). If the home gateway interface(130) receives the pressing detection signal, a controller(140) controls so that the streaming server(120) streams the melody to the door phone(200).

An apparatus for controlling home appliances comprises a cordless phone signal receiving part(210), a searching part(260), a control signal creation part(270), and a network interface part(280).
