Abstract: A device and a method for printing a document are provided to store and print printing data to a host, and print again failed printing data after printing the remained printing data by solving an error in case that the error is generated during the printing process. The host stores/transfers the printing data forming a document to be printer, orders the printing of the printing data, transmits reprinting request data from the stored printing data by responding to a control signal, and orders the printing of the reprinting request data. A printer prints all printing data received from the host and checks whether the error is generated during the printing process. The printer generates the control signal by responding to a checking result and prints the received reprinting request data. A user interface(132) receives the reprinting request data selected from the stored printing data by a user and transfers the selected reprinting request data to the printer.

본 발명에 의하면, 화상 형성 장치의 소모품의 수명을 검출하여 소모품의 교환 시기를 사용자에게 알려주고자 하는 경우, 각 소모품 내부의 메모리에 저장된 인쇄 환경에 따른 가중치를 적용하여 각 소모품의 수명 정보를 계산하고, 계산된 수명 정보를 소모품 내부의 메모리에 저장함으로써, 각 소모품의 특성에 따라 정확한 소모품의 수명 정보 및 교환 시기를 검출할 수 있으며, 사용 중인 소모품을 다른 화상 형성 장치로 이동하여 사용하는 경우에도 소모품의 수명 정보를 정확하게 검출할 수 있다.

Abstract: A print control method of an image forming apparatus is provided to display all the supportable color print modes in a printer driver user interface if all the colors of toner are sufficient, and to check print modes in which normal print quality can not obtained and to restrict the corresponding print modes if one and more colors of toner are insufficient. A print control method of an image forming apparatus comprises the following several steps. A controller measures remaining amounts of yellow, magenta and cyan colors of toner(S100). The controller checks whether the remaining amounts of one and more colors are insufficient compared with reference amounts required for color print(S101). The controller determines that a color print mode can not be set if the remaining amounts of one and more colors are insufficient(S102). The controller measures a remaining amount of a black color(S103). The controller checks whether the remaining amount of the black color is insufficient compared with a reference amount required for mono color print(S104). The controller determines that a mono print mode can not be set if the remaining amount of the block color is insufficient(S106). Then, the controller performs a control operation for restricting a user to select the color or the mono print mode(S107). If the remaining amount of the black color is sufficient, the controller performs a control operation for restricting the user to select the color print mode and allowing the user to select the mono print mode(S105).
