Abstract: An actuator for an optical pickup and an optical recording and reproducing apparatus are provided to have a simple structure and maintain high sensibility. An objective lens for inputting light to an optical information storing medium is mounted in a lens holder, and the lens holder is movably connected to a base by a supporting member. A magnetic circuit independently drives the lens holder in a focusing direction, a tilt direction, and a track direction. The magnetic circuit has the first and the second focusing coils(41,42), a tilt coil(43), a pair of track coils(44,45), and 2-polarizing magnets(61,63). The first and the second focusing coils(41,42) are arranged in the track direction from the lens holder. The tilt coil(43) is laminated with the first and the second focusing coils(41,42) in the focusing direction, and is supported by the lens holder. The track coils(44,45) are supported to the lens holder, and are horizontally disposed in the track direction. The 2-polarizing magnets(61,63) generate a driving force in the focusing direction by interaction with the first and the second focusing coils(41,42), generate a driving force in the tilt direction by interaction with the tilt coil(43), and generate a driving force in the track direction by interaction with the track coils(44,45).

Abstract: PURPOSE: An optical pickup device and a control method thereof are provided to reduce the cost of a sensor by eliminating the need for the sensor to detect the location of a collimate lens when moving the collimate lens using a monitor to correct the spherical aberration of the optical pickup device. CONSTITUTION: An optical pickup device comprises a motor(21), a rotation member(23), a lead member(24), and a lens. The rotation member is connected to the motor and comprises a moving part(23a) and a stopping part(23b). The lead member is inserted into the rotation member, moves along the moving part and stops at the stopping part. The lens is connected to the lead member to correct the aberration. The moving part includes a screw thread and the stopping part includes a plain pattern. The lens comprises at least one of a collimate lens(19) or a objective lens.
