Abstract: Disclosed is a method of detecting overlapping communities, which enables a clustering in a network including node-overlapping communities by excluding a link having a low link-link similarity from the clusters. A method of detecting overlapping communities according to one aspect of the present invention includes the following steps: calculating a link similarity between the mutually different links in a network comprising nodes and links; generating a line graph of the network; detecting one or more cores in the line graph; growing a cluster for the detected one or more cores; and converting link clusters detected from the line graph into a cluster including nodes of a node graph.
