PURPOSE: A dichroic dye for a polarizing film is provided to improve the compatibility with polymer resin and to improve polarizing performance and dispersity in polymer resin. CONSTITUTION: A dichroic dye for a polarizing is represented by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, Ar is a substituted or unsubstituted C6-C15 aryl group, R^1 is a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C5 alkyl group; R^2 is a substituted or unsubstituted C2-C20 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C3-C20 cycloalkyl group, or a combination thereof; and each of R^3 and R^4 is independently hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C3-C30 cycloalkyl group, or a combination thereof.

The present invention relates to a polarizing film containing polyolefin resin and dichroic dyes, wherein a solubility parameter difference from the that of the polyolefin resin is less than 7.4, and a display device including the polarizing film. Polarization properties can be improved by increasing compatibility and dispersibility with the combination of the polyolefin resin and the dichroic dyes.

PURPOSE: A composite material for a polarizing film, the polarizing film, a manufacturing method thereof, and a liquid crystal display apparatus including the same are provided to reduce the thickness of a display apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display apparatus comprises a liquid crystal display panel(10) and a polarizing film(20). The polarizing film is located on the upper part and the lower part of the liquid crystal display panel. The liquid crystal display panel comprises a first display panel(100), a second display panel(200), and a liquid crystal layer(300). The liquid crystal layer is arranged between the first display panel and the second display panel. The major axis of a liquid crystal molecule is arranged approximately parallel to the surface of the first display panel and the second display panel without an electric field when the liquid crystal molecule has positive dielectric permittivity anisotropy. The major axis of the liquid crystal molecule is arranged almost vertical to the surface of the first display panel and the second display panel when the electric field is applied.
