Abstract: A keypad assembly for a portable terminal is provided to enhance user portability and to prevent a joystick from being wrongly operated by installing the joystick for making a joystick key be not protruded in comparison with keys of an existing key assembly. A keypad assembly for a portable terminal comprises the first metal dome(222), the first actuator(112), the second actuator(410) and a single metal dome(302). If a user pushes a selected key, the first actuator(112) pushes the first metal dome(222) and a signal is transmitted. If the user pushes a stick portion(310), the second actuator(410) pushes the single metal dome(302) and a wanted signal is transmitted. An convex part of the first metal dome(222) is arranged upwardly and that of the single metal dome(302) is arranged downwardly. The first actuator(112) is in a vertical downward direction protruded from a bottom of a soft pad part(110), and the second actuator(410) is in a vertical upward direction protruded from a top of a housing(400). The stick portion is installed in a vertical upward direction at the second PCB(304). As a result, the use inputs data by pushing keys(120) and the stick portion(310).
