Abstract: PURPOSE: An earphone having a touch input unit and a portable terminal using the same are provided to enable a user to easily manipulate the portable terminal by inputting various operation signals into the portable terminal through the earphone. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal(100) comprises an ear-jack(140) having a plug(220) of an earphone(200) which is inserted into one side of the portable terminal. The portable terminal transmits an audio signal to the earphone through the ear-jack. The portable terminal can receive the audio signal from the earphone. The portable terminal receives operation signals inputted from a touch input part(210) of the earphone through the ear-jack. The portable terminal manages the received operation signals. The earphone comprises a microphone(240), a speaker(230), a touch input part, and a plug.

Abstract: A mobile communication terminal for the sight disabled and a method of transmitting a text message by using the terminal are provided to enable the sight disable to use a text message service like a normal person while keeping privacy. A braille type keypad(110) comprises specific numbers(111,116) in a lower right side and six points(121~126) comprising braille. The specific numbers correspond to the six points. A braille input unit transmits information about brallie that a user inputs through the braille type keypad to a braille display unit. The braille display unit controls a braille representation module(120) to express the braille. The braille representation module regularly projects the six points located in the braille representation module according the control of the braille display unit.
