Abstract: A photographing apparatus and a photographing method are provided to photograph directly an image by performing imaging with AF operation, thereby catching certainly a shutter release chance and photographing quickly the image. A photographing apparatus includes a drive unit(142,144,146,148), a photographing unit(110), an in-focus position detection unit(156), an in-focus control unit(150) and a recording unit(140). The drive unit drives a focus lens included in a photographing optical system in a focus control direction from when a shutter button is pressed. The photographing unit outputs continuously and sequentially images of a subject imaged on an imaging surface through the photographing optical system according as the shutter button is pressed one time as image data as much as a number of all pixels. The in-focus position detecting unit detects an in-focus position of the focus lens on the basis of the image data sequentially outputted from the photographing unit. The in-focus control unit holds the focus lens at the in-focus position by controlling the drive unit on the basis of a detection result by the in-focus position detecting unit. The recording unit records sequentially the image data outputted from the photographing unit until the focus lens is held at the in-focus position after the shutter button is pressed.

Abstract: A digital image processing apparatus using magnification conversion and a method for converting magnification in the digital image processing apparatus are provided to magnify an image with intermediate magnification and then magnify or reduce the magnified image to reduce the number of operations.
