Abstract: 본 발명은 전력 부하 모니터링 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 소비 전력의 역률(力率, Power Factor)을 특징으로 이용하거나 부하의 상태 변화를 검출하거나, 또는 역률과 피상 전력(Apparent Power)을 함께 이용하여 부하의 상태 변화를 검출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 또한 본 발명은, 전력 부하 모니터링에 있어서, 중첩의 원리를 이용하여 부하를 식별하는 것을 또 다른 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 발명에 따른 전력 부하 모니터링 장치는, 가전 기기가 소비하는 소비 전력 정보를 수집하기 위한 센서부와; 센서부에 의해 수집된 소비 전력 정보 중에서 소비 전력의 역률 정보에 기초하여 가전 기기에서 일어나는 전력 소비 관련 이벤트를 검출하는 제어부를 포함할 수 있다.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for monitoring power load are disclosed. The present invention has the purpose for overcoming the low reliability of a database constructed by a generalization method by updating the reference data of a database constructed by the generalization method in the apparatus for monitoring the power load. To achieve this, the apparatus for monitoring the power load according to the present invention comprises a sensor for collecting power information consumed in home appliances; a control unit for identifying the home appliances using a power consumption pattern by obtaining the power consumption pattern of the home appliances based on the collected power information; a display unit for displaying the identification result of the home appliances to confirm the identification result of the home appliances using the power consumption pattern; and a data base for storing the identification result of the home appliances when the identification result of the home appliances displayed on the display unit is confirmed.
