Abstract: PURPOSE: A bidirectional optical transceiver module is provided to maintain an intensity of an optical signal by forming a mode coupling region consisting of non-divided waveguides. CONSTITUTION: A bidirectional optical transceiver module includes an optical source(250), and optical detector(270), and optical fiber(260), a waveguide substrate(280), a first waveguide, a second waveguide, and a third waveguide(213). The optical detector detects a received optical signal. The waveguide substrate contains the optical fiber, the optical source, and the optical detector as well as a reflection layer on one side thereof. Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for aligning and fixing an optical module is provided to reduce deviation of an optical axis by applying adhesives, each of which has a different physical property, on an optical lens system at a predetermined number of times. CONSTITUTION: A groove(310) for receiving an optical lens system(340) is formed on a sub-mount(300). A semiconductor laser(320) is fixed on the sub-mount(300) at a position which is separated from the groove(310) as far as a predetermined distance. An ultraviolet curing agent is applied onto a basement of the groove(310). Then, the optical lens system(340) is placed on the ultraviolet curing agent. A thermosetting epoxy resin is applied on a coupling portion between the groove(310) and the optical lens system(340). A thermal expansive coefficient of thermosetting epoxy resin is lower than that of the ultraviolet curing agent.
