Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system of providing Internet Protocol (IP) data communication in an NFC peer-to-peer mode communication environment, wherein an NFC peer to peer link is established between an initiator NFC device and a target NFC device, a first configuration frame containing IP configuration parameters associated with the initiator NFC device is transmitted to the target NFC device via an NFC interface, a second configuration frame containing IP configuration parameters associated with the target NFC device is received from the target NFC device via the NFC interface in response to the first configuration frame, an IP communication is set up with the target NFC device over the NFC interface based on the IP configuration parameters associated with the target NFC device, and IP data is exchanged with the target NFC device over the NFC interface in an NFC peer to peer mode.
