Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for unlocking a portable terminal which include a step of receiving input of at least two touch events in a locked screen; a step of determining whether the input number of the touch events matches to predetermined input number limit when the input of at least two touch events is received; a step of converting the received input of at least two touch events into authentication information in case the input number of the touch events and the input number limit matches, and determining whether the converted authentication information and predetermined unlock authentication information matches or not by comparing the converted authentication information and the predetermined unlock authentication information; and a step of releasing a lock in case the converted authentication information and the unlock authentication information matches.
