Abstract: PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to change the structure of a light guide to improve an assembled structure of a lamp cover and the light guide. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes a back light assembly that is arranged under a display unit for displaying images to provide light to the display unit. The back light assembly includes a lamp(161) for emitting light, a lamp cover(162), a light guide(152) and a mold frame(131). The lamp cover is installed at one side of the lamp and extended in the direction of length of the lamp and has an opening at one side thereof. The light guide is set at one side of the lamp cover and has a stopper(152a) for stopping the top edge of the lamp cover, formed at one end of the light guide. The end of the light guide, which has the stopper, is engaged with the opening of the lamp cover to guide the light emitted from the lamp. The mold frame accommodates the back light assembly.

Abstract: 램프 커버와 도광판의 결합 구조를 개선시킨 백라이트 어셈블리를 갖는 액정표시장치가 개시된다. 상기 백라이트 어셈블리는 광을 발생하는 램프 및 상기 램프를 수납할 정도의 홈을 갖는 램프 커버를 구비한다. 상기 램프의 일측에는 일단부가 상기 램프 커버의 상단부 및 하단부와 맞물려서 결합되어 상기 램프로부터 발생된 광을 상부로 안내하기 위한 도광판이 구비된다. 상기 도광판의 일단부의 상면에 상기 램프 커버의 상단 에지가 걸리는 걸림턱을 형성한다. 따라서, 상기 램프 커버의 휨으로 인해 상기 도광판과 램프 커버 사이의 결합 불량이 발생되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
