Abstract: 본 발명은 단말기 및 그의 문자입력방법에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명은 일면에 메인표시부가 설치되고 타면에 서브 표시부 및 입력부가 설치되는 단말기의 문자입력방법에 있어서, 상기 메인 표시부에 제1입력창이 표시되면, 화면 전환의 요청여부를 판단하고, 화면 전환을 요청받으면, 상기 서브 표시부에 제2입력창을 표시하고, 상기 입력부를 통하여 상기 제2입력창에 문자가 입력되고 상기 입력된 문자의 저장을 요청받으면, 상기 입력된 문자를 저장하고 상기 저장된 문자를 상기 제1입력창에 표시한다. 따라서 본 발명은 표시부의 활용도를 높일 수 있는 단말기 및 그의 문자입력방법을 제공한다.

Abstract: A terminal and a character input method thereof are provided to increase the availability of a display unit by inputting characters to a main display unit by using a character input unit. A controller indicates Java application of which execution is requested from user in a main display unit(S301); determines whether the first input window is indicated on the main display unit or not(S303); produces a screen conversion key and indicates in the main display unit(S305); determines whether or not the screen conversion key indicated is inputted from a user(S307); indicates the message informing the scene change to a main display unit (S308); indicates the second input window in the sub indicating part (S309); determines whether or not character is input to the second input window(S311); indicates the inputted character in the second input window of the sub indicating part(S313); determines whether or not the character additionally inputted to the second input window exists(S315); determines whether or not the signal requesting the storage of the character displayed on second input window is input (S317); stores the character displayed on second input window in the storage part(S319); indicates 'the message informing the scene change on the sub indicating part(S321); and indicates the stored character in the first input window(S323).
