Abstract: PURPOSE: A digital transport stream processor of a digital set top box is provided to process both of ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) data streams and IP(Internet procotol) data streams. CONSTITUTION: A digital transport stream processor of a digital set top box(100) includes a data receiver(101,102), an ATM cell extractor(103), a transport stream construction unit(106), and a data converter(107,108). The data receiver is connected to an xDSL port and Ethernet port to receive ATM or IP digital broadcasting data or VOD(Video On Demand) data from an ATM network or an IP network and judges whether the received data is ATM data, IP over ATM data or IP data. The ATM cell extractor judges whether the data received from the data receiver is an ATM-based MPEG transport stream or IP packet data and, when the data is the MPEG transport stream, extracts an effective cell from ATM cells corresponding to the MPEG transport stream. The transport stream construction unit removes head information and overhead information from the effective cell and reconstructs an ATM cell from which the overhead information has been removed to construct an MPEG transport stream. The data converter converts the MPEG transport stream such that the MPEG transport stream is displayed on an image display system(200).

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and system for confirming the transmission and reception of short messages through the Internet in a premises wireless network is provided so that a subscriber can check the status of transmitted text messages through the web browser, such as for how many messages he transmitted recently, what the contents were, or whether the other sides received them well. CONSTITUTION: An operating system in a system for confirming the transmission and reception of short messages through the Internet in a premises wireless network consists of a CGI(Common Gateway Interface) task(203), an SMSC(Short Message Service Center) task(213), a BSC task(221), and a VLR task(211). The CGI task(203) receives a short message through a web server(201) from an SMS user and informs him of a message transmission result. Also the CGI task(203) enables the SMS user to confirm the status or details of short messages transmitted from/to him. The SMSC task(213) receives a short message sending request from the CGI task(203) and transfers it to an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) task(207), which covers call processing for generic premises wireless calls and SMS messages overall. Also the SMSC task(213) transfers a short message processing result from the MSC task(207) to the CGI task(203). The BSC task(221) controlling the MSC task(207) and a BTS interfaces between the MSC tack(207) and a mobile terminal. The VLR task(211) maintains and manages basic information, location information and state information for premises wireless subscribers.
