Abstract: PURPOSE: A signal processing method of a portable computer including a pointing button and a portable computer therefor are provided to prevent malfunction caused by mal-operation when the mal-operation occurs between key buttons and a pointing button. CONSTITUTION: A pointing module(320) includes a pointing button(321) and points and selects a predetermined spot on a screen. A keyboard unit(330) includes key buttons(331) adjacent to the pointing button and a sensor module(332) sensing approach and touch to the key buttons. When the manipulation of the pointing button is recognized, a system control unit(340) performs operation corresponding to the manipulation of the pointing button or not according to a sensing result of the sensor module. When one or both of the approach and the touch are sensed, the system control unit does not perform the operation corresponding to the manipulation of the pointing button. Abstract: 개시되는 본 고안의 휴대용 컴퓨터는 AC 어댑터의 DC 입력 잭이 제거되는 것을 방지하기 위한 제1 잠금부와 분리형 배터리가 제거되는 것을 방지하기 위한 제2 잠금부를 구비한다. AC 어댑터 또는 배터리 중 어느 하나 만이 연결되어 전원을 공급받아 휴대용 컴퓨터가 동작할 때, 제1 또는 제2 잠금부는 현재 접속되어 전원을 공급하는 AC 어댑터 또는 배터리가 제거되지 않도록 한다. 그러므로 휴대용 컴퓨터가 동작 중에 전원 입력이 차단되어 파워 오프 되는 경우를 방지한다.
