    Abstract: A display panel assembly and a display device having the same are provided to improve the side luminance asymmetry of an OCB(Optically Compensated Bend)-mode liquid crystal panel effectively by applying an upper polarizing film having a high haze characteristic in order to improve the dispersion of light and to secure a surface low-reflective characteristic. A display panel assembly comprises a display panel(100), an upper polarizing plate(140), and a lower polarizing plate(130). The display panel has the first substrate(110), the second substrate(120), and an OCB-mode liquid crystal layer. The first substrate and the second substrate face each other. The OCB-mode liquid crystal layer is inserted between the first substrate and the second substrate. The upper polarizing plate, arranged at the top of the display panel, has a value of more than haze 64. The haze value of the upper polarizing plate is between 64 to 90. The lower polarizing plate is arranged at the bottom of the display panel.
