Abstract: An apparatus for distributing the load of a base station in a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to distribute the load between base stations effectively in an overlapped cell of the mobile communication system. The controller of a source base station receives the load information of neighboring base stations(601). The controller performs the process of comparing the load of the source base station with the load of the neighboring base station to check the load difference between the source base station and neighboring base station(603). If the load difference is bigger than a predetermined amount, the controller determines whether the load of the source base station is larger than that of the neighboring base station(605). If so, the controller lowers the hysteresis value of the source base station to distribute the load of a mobile communication system(607).

Abstract: A handover apparatus between a macro cell and a home cell in a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to enable a user terminal to determine whether a home base station exists around itself in a 3GPP LTE system, and perform gap assisted measurement only when the user terminal enters the coverage of the home base station. A user terminal(330) can move into the coverage of home base stations(310,320) while receiving a call service from a base station(300). For the above step, the user terminal performs gap assisted measurement for the handover from the macro base station to the home base station. When the user terminal enters the coverage of the home base station, to sense the entry fact, the home base station is switched to an FA of the base station to transmit an advertisement signal. When the home base station is driven, it receives the resource allocation information for the advertisement from a base station to which the home base station belongs.

Abstract: A device for recognizing a home address in a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to offer a home address of a terminal to an aGW(access Gateway) during an overlapped address detection process, such that the aGW conducts charging and policing functions for the terminal. Abstract: A resource reservation device in a mobile IP(Internet Protocol) system and a method thereof are provided to enable an AR(Access Router) to predict mobile ratios of each of neighboring ARs by monitoring handoff history and to reserve resources according to the prediction, thereby reducing signaling overheads and a waste of bandwidths. When a mobile node performs handoff to adjacent neighboring ARs, a counter unit(206) counts handoff times to store the counted handoff times as handoff history. A handoff ratio calculator(208) calculates handoff ratios to the respective neighboring ARs by using the handoff history at preset intervals, and stores the calculated handoff ratios. When generation of a resource reservation event is sensed, a bandwidth calculator(210) individually measures ratio bandwidths to the neighboring ARs by using the handoff ratios, and demands resource reservation of the measured respective ratio bandwidths.
