    Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-type air conditioning apparatus including an outdoor unit, an indoor unit and a communication line. The outdoor unit and indoor unit of the multi-type air conditioning apparatus each include: a communication unit for transmitting and receiving data through the communication line; and a control unit which transmits a preamble signal including priority information for transmitting data through the communication line, and transmits the data through the communication line when the transmission of the preamble signal is completed. The multi-type air conditioning apparatus is capable of selecting a priority designated time and transmitting the preamble signal after the lapse of the priority designated time, while delaying the data transmission when a preamble signal transmitted by another device is detected during the priority designated time, to prevent collisions on the communication line and to swiftly occupy the communication line.
