Abstract: PURPOSE: An image forming device and image noise processing method are provided to objectively evaluate a picture quality of eh picture image by performing a picture improvement of the picture image by distinguishing an image noise with a 1D and 2D noise. CONSTITUTION: An output unit(110) outputs a fixed concentration pattern. An input unit(120) receives an outputted concentration pattern. A signal extraction unit(130) extracts an image noise signal from a two sensing area of a concentration pattern. A controller(140) distinguishes an image noise generating in a concentration pattern based on the image noise signal with 1D or 2D noise. Abstract: An apparatus and a method for correcting gray data are provided to provide consistent, high quality color data which is not influenced by the subject of a user. A converting unit(210) converts RGB data inputted to a source device into certain color data by using a color appearance model. A correcting unit(220) maps a chromaticity value of gray data into a certain numerical value in a color space including the converted color data as a component. The converting unit calculates a chroma value by converting the RGB data into HSV data. A controller(230) checks whether the chroma value is within a certain pre-set range based on the gray data. If the chroma value is within the pre-set range, the correcting unit maps the chromaticity value of the gray data to a zero value.

Abstract: A gamut mapping apparatus and method are provided to divide a gamut of an output device into a core gamut and a surround gamut to reproduce input image data in a wide gamut through a narrow-gamut output device without distorting the input image data.
