PURPOSE: A video apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to increase the performance of voice recognition by lowering the volume of a voice outputted from the video apparatus in case the video apparatus recognizes the voice of a user. CONSTITUTION: A first voice input unit (112) inputs a voice signal on a user side. A sound output unit (122) outputs a sound signal from a video apparatus. A first voice recognition unit (210) analyzes the sound signal on the inputted user side. PURPOSE: A display device and a control method are provided to perform a wheel function according to the position and a movement direction of a pointer, thereby performing a page scroll function, a wheel scroll function, and a zoom function according to the simple movement of a user when a surrounding device is not connected. CONSTITUTION: An image obtainment unit (105) obtains a user image. An image processing unit (106) senses the movement of a user from the user image. A control unit (108) moves a pointer, which is displayed on a screen, to a target position corresponding to the movement of the user. When the pointer is positioned in a movement area, the control unit moves the pointer within the movement area. When the target position deviates from the movement area, the control unit moves the pointer to other movement area. A method for providing a type of an image device and an image device thereof are provided to obtain a type of a connected external device and supply a list of external devices or a menu of the external devices to a user according to the obtained type, thereby enabling the user to conveniently use the image device. A method for providing a type of an image device comprises the following steps. A request message for asking whether a device connected according to HDMI CEC standards is a device of a specific type is transmitted. A method of managing a logical address and a device thereof are provided to use an unused logical address directly without regard to its device type, thereby supporting a larger number of devices. A controller of an AV device checks whether a logical address is being used from 0th to 15th in sequence by transmitting a polling message to a 0th logical address because logical addresses till 15th are available in HDMI CEC(High Definition Multimedia Interface Consumer Electronics Control)(S410). An ACK(ACKnowledge character) is received from a DTV connected to a network(S420). Therefore, the controller detects that 0th address is being used by another device(S430) so the controller searches 1st address(S440). If all logical addresses till 14th are preoccupied by other devices on a network, the AV device sets 15th as a logical address without searching more(S470).

The AV device recognizes there is an unused address among the logical addresses(S420). And then, 4 which is an unused address in the previous check is set in the AV device(S430). The AV device recognizes all the logical addresses corresponding to its device type are used(S420). And then, a controller of the AV device checks whether a global network is already used in a network(S440). 12th which is an unused global address is set in the AV device as its logical address(S460). If global address 12th and 13th are all used(S450), 15th which is an unregistered address is set in the AV device without any other solutions(S470).

A method for providing a menu screen suitable for a menu provided from a connected external device and an image device using the same are provided to enable the image device to secure and use information about menus, which can be provided from the external device connected to the image device, and information about menu names previously, thereby preventing errors of displaying the menu screen of the external device, on which a different menu, not a desired menu, is displayed, or the name of a menu is wrongly displayed. A wireless USB(Universal Serial Bus) host, a wireless USB device, and a method for providing and performing a function of a dual role device are provided to reduce the use of a wireless channel and perform a function of a dual role device host by implementing a point-to-point network through a base link without an inverse link in a wireless USB environment. A wireless USB host includes a searching unit(940), a control transfer packet generation unit(950), and a transceiving unit(920). The searching unit(940) searches a probability of beacon generation of an opposite apparatus with reference to a message received in a wireless USB point-to-point dual role device communication environment. The control transfer packet generation unit(950) generates a control transfer packet including beacon synchronization information, channel time allotment information, and data transfer direction information according to the search result. The transceiving unit(920) transmits the control transfer packet with reference to the beacon synchronization information, and transceives data with the opposite apparatus with reference to the channel time allotment information, and the data transfer direction information.
