Abstract: A scanning apparatus is provided to change the color of a documents background into a while, blue, or black according to the color of a scanning document to detect the outline of the document correctly, thereby improving user's convenience. A method for operating a scanning apparatus comprises the following steps of: allowing a belt screen to set a first section of a white color to a document background(S10); allowing a user to select a menu using a document outline detecting function(S20); allowing the user to select a document color or a document background color(S30); checking whether the selected document color is white(S40); allowing a control unit or a user to rotate the belt screen automatically or manually to use a second section of a blue or black color as the document background(S50); performing pre-scanning if the document background is changed(S60); determining whether the detected outline of the document is correctly detected(S70); changing a not-detected outline background into the first section of the white color when the detected outline is not correctly(S71); and detected starting scanning when the detected outline is correctly detected(S80).

Abstract: A device and a method to adjusting a scanning region are provided to enable a user to scan a desired region quickly by setting the scanning region with a convenient touch of a touch screen and a plurality of buttons. A touch screen(200) receives first and second positions selected by a user.
