Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for supporting the detection and selection of a base station in multi layer mobile network are provided to transmit a decision result to a serving base station and to detect the cell ID of the femto base station. CONSTITUTION: A subscriber station(111) communicates with a macro base stations in the wireless communications network. The subscriber station includes a processor and a memory. The memory is connected to a processor and includes a white list. The white list includes information related to a plurality of quarantined group of subscribers base stations. The processor scans a femto base station(160) based on the message received from the serving base station.
