Abstract: A digital TV(Television) and a channel managing method thereof are provided to maintain an erasure state of a channel, erased by a user, continuously even when a broadcasting service provider updates channel information. A channel managing method of a digital TV comprises the following steps of: storing channel erasure information, about a channel of a channel erasure state among channels erased from a channel list when updating the channel list, in a memory(S11); checking whether or not there is information about a new channel in the stored channel erasure information when the new channel is added to the channel list during channel list update(S12,S13); and if so, adding the new channel as an erasure state to the channel list, and otherwise adding the new channel as a memory state to the channel list(S14,S15).

The tuners tune predetermined channels for receiving broadcasting signals. A user inputs a command of selecting a channel through the input unit. The channel selection presuming unit presumes a channel to be selected on the basis of data about the number of times of previously selecting each channel and probability data for a period of time during which an operation of tuning each channel is continuously carried out. The controller controls the tuners to tune the channel presumed by the channel selection presuming unit in response to the command.
