Abstract: 본 발명은 무선통신 시스템에서 액티브싱크 서비스의 핑 주기를 결정하는 방법 및 장치에 관한 것으로서, 기 설정된 최소값을 심박 주기로 설정하여 핑 메시지의 송수신을 시도하는 과정과, 상기 설정된 심박 주기에 해당하는 핑 메시지의 송수신이 성공적으로 이루어지는지 판단하는 과정과, 상기 핑 메시지의 송수신이 기 설정된 횟수만큼 연속적으로 성공할 경우, 상기 심박 주기를 기 설정된 최대값으로 설정하는 과정을 포함하여, 빠른 시간 내에 최적의 심박 주기를 결정할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 액티브싱크 프로토콜을 이용하는 서비스를 안정적으로 제공할 수 있다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for determining ping interval of an active sync service in a wireless communication system are provided to determine an optimal heartbeat interval rapidly by adjusting the heartbeat interval through the usage of a binary searching method. CONSTITUTION: An HB(Heartbeat Interval) is set up in a preset minimum value(300), and the success of the ping message transmission and reception is sensed(310). If the transmission and reception of the ping message is continuously successful as many as a preset frequency, the HB is changed in the preset maximum value(302). Unless the transmission and reception of the ping message is continuously successful as many as a preset frequency, a push mode for transmitting and receiving the ping message is terminated(304). Through a binary search method, an optimal HB is searched(340).
