Abstract: A sliding type portable electronic device having the convenience of manipulation and portability is provided to provide the convenience of a user by implementing an operation for opening a sliding device. A slide member combines first and second housings(101,102). The slide member guides the sliding movement of the second housing. The slide member includes a guide plate(211) and a guide member(213). An elastic member(241) provides driving force moving the second housing in a direction opening the first housing. A locking member maintains the first and the second housing in an overlapped state. The locking member includes a ball bearing within a locking hole(227b). A damping member relieves the movement speed change of the second housing moved by the driving force of the elastic member.

Abstract: A sliding module in a sliding-type portable terminal is provided to slim and miniaturize sliding-type portable terminals by directly installing a sliding module at a sliding housing and a main housing. A sliding module in a sliding-type portable terminal, which consists of a main housing(20) and a sliding housing(10), comprises a link guide part(100), a sliding link part(200), a damper part(300), a slide guide part(400), and a pair of force supply units(500). The link guide part is installed at the main housing. If a user releases the sliding housing after pulling it, the link guide part restrains or releases the sliding link part's sliding motion while guiding the sliding link part. The sliding link part is installed at the sliding housing. The sliding link part makes a sliding motion, engaging with the link guide part. The damper part reduces the sliding speed of the sliding housing in order to maintain a regular opening speed. The slide guide part, installed at both the sliding housing and the main housing, guides the sliding housing for its sliding motion. The force supply units provide force so that the sliding housing can make a sliding motion on the main housing.
