Abstract: PURPOSE: An external shock absorber is provided to append an elastomeric bumper for preventing disk heads from slapping disk surface. CONSTITUTION: A hard disk drive(10) includes an external bumper(44,48) attached on a housing of the hard disk drive and a disk(12) attached on a spindle motor set(14) in a base plate(16). An actuator arm assembly(18) attached on the base plate joins the hard disk drive sealed by a cover(36) attached on the base plate. A shank(50) is inserted to a hole of the cover and the base plate and forms corn-shaped collars. The elastomeric bumpers are attached to the cover and the corners of the base plate, and absorb a shock appended to the hard disk drive.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A connecting portion assembly of a hard disk drive recording head and assembly method is provided, which has a plurality of pins through a bracket. CONSTITUTION: The connecting portion assembly of a hard disk drive recording head comprises: a bracket (14) having a turn tap (24) and an O-ring (36) for connecting with a base plate (26); a plurality of pins (12) to be attached to the bracket (14), which is extended through the bracket (14); a soluble circuit board (16) to be connected to a plurality of pins (12) by a brazing, having a metal path (18) to be attached to one dielectric (22) and a brazing pad (20) to be connected to a plurality of pins (12) by the brazing. Thereby, it is possible to decrease the complexity in a great amount of product of the assembly and save the manufacturing cost.
