    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for storing an image through motion recognition in a portable terminal are provided to minimize keypad input, thereby simplifying storing and managing processes of the image. A movement recognition function is activated by a user(201). A portable terminal maps a corresponding command by receiving an operation about storage and cancel if the user designates the operation for storage and cancel(203,205). The portable terminal maps a corresponding command on a corresponding folder by receiving an operation which indicates each folder if the user uses folder operation recognition(207).

    Abstract: A data storing method of a portable terminal and an apparatus thereof for storing an image in a storage folder corresponding to a keyword are provided to store the image in the storage folder corresponding to the image and analyze the keyword corresponding to the name of the image file. When a file name called autumn travel scenery is inputted, a keyword detection unit begins to analyze the file name. A keyword detection unit(403) analyzes the file name and confirms fall, trip, and the specific word called scenery. The keyword obtains the fall including the national characters which the keyword detection unit is already defined, trip, and scenery. A controller uses the storage name of the image file. The keyword detection unit provides keywords to the controller. The keyword detection unit terminates the algorithm.
