Abstract: PURPOSE: A multi-functional wafer detecting apparatus of semiconductor manufacturing equipment is provided to be capable of detecting whether a wafer is loaded, or not, and the damage state of the wafer. CONSTITUTION: A multi-functional wafer detecting apparatus(100) of semiconductor manufacturing equipment is provided with a loading part(102) for loading a wafer(112), a light emitting part(104) for outputting an optical signal to the first peripheral portion of the wafer in order to discriminate the state of the wafer and a reflecting part(106) for reflecting the optical signal supplied from the light emitting part to the second peripheral portion of the wafer. The multi-functional wafer detecting apparatus further includes a light receiving part(108) for receiving the optical signal reflected from the second peripheral portion of the wafer and a discriminating part(110) connected to the light receiving part for discriminating the state of the loaded wafer.
