Abstract: A switched beamforming device using a multi-beam combining and a method thereof are provided to select and combine beams having good QoS to improve the SINR(Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio). By using an array antenna(201), a beamforming unit(101) forms a plurality of beams. A beam selecting/controlling unit(102) measure the QOS(Quality of Service) of each signal received through the beams. According to the QoS measurement result, a beam selector(103) selects at least two or more beams having high QoS. A beam combiner(104) combines the selected beams.

Abstract: 본발명은무선통신시스템에서 SINR을높이기위한것으로, 여러개의빔을형성하고서로독립적인무선환경을겪은빔을선별및 결합하는멀티빔 결합을이용한스위치빔 포밍장치및 방법에관한것이다. 이를위해본 발명은다수의빔을형성하는빔 형성부, 각각의빔을통해수신된신호의 QoS를측정하는빔 선택조정부, 측정된 QoS에따라 2개이상의빔을선택하는빔 선택부, 선택된빔들을적절히결합하는빔 결합부를포함하여구성될수 있다. 본발명에의하면, QoS가좋은빔들을선별하고이들을결합하였기때문에빔 포밍시스템의장점을극대화함과동시에무선채널환경에서의 SINR을개선할수 있는효과가있다.
