Abstract: A network bridge apparatus and a communication method using the same are provided to make it possible to offer a bridge function through search of services by devices positioned at an external cluster. A storage unit(102) stores first attribute information provided by first devices, that is, a DTV and a set-top box, which are included in a first cluster, for communication. An external communication unit(104) transmits the first attribute information stored to the storage unit to a second cluster. The external communication unit receives second attribute information provided by second devices, which are included in the second cluster, for communication. A controller(106) recognizes services provided from the second devices by analyzing the second attribute information received from the second cluster, and generates virtual devices corresponding to the second devices. The controller notifies that a new device is connected to the first devices in order to make the first devices recognize as if the virtual device is actually located in the first cluster.

Abstract: A repeater for controlling an USB device and a method for the same are provided to solve the problem of the related art that various utilization is restricted when USB-based device are controlled through a digital TV by making AV device over an XHT network cooperate with the USB-based devices. A repeater for controlling an USB device includes an analysis module(310), a UI forming module(320), and an output module(330). The analysis module(310) detects a controlled device connected to a heterogeneous network and analyzes one of an interface class and a protocol of the controlled device. The UI forming module(320) forms a user interface(UI) according to the analyzed information of the interface class. Abstract: A network bridge apparatus and a bus reset control method for preventing the bus reset storming between clusters are provided to perform the bus reset of the cluster selectively. An interface unit(111) receives a reset message including information about a device(120) included in an external cluster. A storage(113) stores information about an external device included in the external cluster, information about a local device and a network bridge apparatus(110). A controller(112) determines whether to reset a second bus of a local cluster by comparing the previously stored information with the received information. Abstract: A device and a method for determining an IP address thereof are provided to determine an IP address speedily and easily and avoid a collision of IP addresses by determining an IP address with an allocated node ID without passing through the process of a manager's decision. A device(100) in a network system based on IEEE 1394 protocol comprises an interface part(110) and a control part(120). The interface part supports communication with other devices which exist in the network system. In case a new node ID is allocated as a bus reset event occurs in the network system, the control part determines an IP address on the basis of the allocated node ID. The node ID consists of a bus ID and a physical ID. The control part determines the IP address, based on the physical ID.
