Abstract: A display device and a control method thereof are provided to use a main screen channel selecting key as a sub screen channel selecting key, thereby simplifying a key necessary for a PIP(Picture In Picture) function. A channel selecting unit(41,42) selects a channel of a main screen and a sub screen. A screen selecting unit(45) selects a screen, where a channel will be changed, among the main screen and the sub screen. A controller determines whether the screen selecting unit is selected if a channel is selected in the channel selecting unit. If so, the controller switches a channel of a sub screen according to the channel selected by the channel selecting unit.

Abstract: 일체형 고압발생장치를 갖는 영상 디스플레이 장치의 편향 구동시 전자 빔(Beam) 변동에 따른 편향 사이즈 변동을 보정하는 편향보정회로가 개시된다. 편향보정회로는 FBT(Flyback Transformer)로부터 ABL(Auto Beam Limitation)전류를 검출하고, 검출된 ABL전류로부터 수직 및 수평 편향에 대해 이득을 각각 결정하여 보정이 수행될 수 있도록 하며, FBT로부터 DC 및 AC 고압 변동을 검출하여 수평 편향에 대해 스테틱(static)고압변동 및 다이나믹(dynamic)고압변동을 각각 보정한다. 이에 따라 대형 화면을 갖는 CRT 또는 프로젝션 TV 등에서 일체형 고압발생장치를 사용하는 경우에 고압 변동에 따른 화면 사이즈 변동을 억제할 수 있게 되며, 미세한 화면 사이즈 변동에 따른 컨버전스(Convergence) 드리프트 발생을 방지할 수 있어 안정된 화질을 제공할 수 있다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A deflection compensating circuit in accordance with a beam change is provided to suppress a screen size change in accordance with a high-voltage change when an integrated-type high-voltage generation device is used, and to prevent a convergence drift from being generated, thereby supplying a stable picture quality. CONSTITUTION: An ABL(Auto Beam Limitation) change detector(120) detects a change of an ABL current from an FBT(Flyback Transformer)(110). Vertical and horizontal input gain controllers(132,134) determine gains of vertical and horizontal compensation waveforms, respectively, and output the determined gains. Vertical and horizontal waveform compensators(142,144) output the vertical and horizontal compensation waveforms according to the gains. A vertical amplification output unit(150) amplifies the compensation waveforms, and supplies a driving voltage to a vertical deflection yoke. An adding and differential amplifier(180) adds the compensation waveforms to the ABL change, compares the added values with a reference voltage, and amplifies a difference. An E/W(East/West) compensation controller(190) outputs an E/W compensation control signal to a horizontal output unit(200).

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling convergence of a projection television are provided to prevent a convergence controller from erroneously operating due to a luminance gain deviation detected by an optical sensor when earth-magnetism is automatically compensated. CONSTITUTION: A convergence controller of a projection television includes a pattern generator(50), a sensor(20), a reference voltage generator(90), a comparator(80), and a microcomputer(30). The pattern generator generates a predetermined reference pattern displayed on a screen. The sensor senses a variation in luminance of the reference pattern while the reference pattern is being moved on the screen. The reference voltage generator outputs reference pulse voltage for each of RGB colors. The comparator compares the output voltage of the detector with the reference pulse voltage. The microcomputer detects a luminance gain deviation based on the comparison result and controls RGB signals to correct luminance.
