PURPOSE: A charging device and method thereof are provided to gradually amplify an input current value based on time, thereby preventing a voltage in the charging device from dropping at charging start time. CONSTITUTION: A power supply unit(100) supplies power to a charging device(200). A charging managing unit(210) manages the power of the charging device. The charging managing unit includes a charging controller(220), a charging circuit unit(230), and a current adjusting unit(240). The charging circuit unit performs a conversion function and a transfer function in the charging managing unit. A power charging unit(250) stores power transferred from the charging managing unit.

PURPOSE: An apparatus for recognizing a cover by using a hall effect integrated circuit is provided to prevent data or hardware from being abnormally operated due to the magnetic field of a mobile terminal when the flip or folder is closed. CONSTITUTION: A resistor(R4) is connected between the output port of a hall effect integrated circuit(19) and a power supply part(VCC) in order to recognize the output value of the hall effect integrated circuit(19) through a key matrix. The emitter and collector of a PNP transistor(TR3) are respectively connected to the vertical and horizontal lines(17,18) of the key matrix. A resistor(R5) is connected to the base of the transistor(TR). The resistor(R5) is connected to the output port of the hall effect integrated circuit(19). Accordingly the hall effect integrated circuit(19) has a 'high' output value, without being affected by the magnetic field of a magnet, while a folder and a main body are executing a close operation.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for correctly sensing the state of a 4-pole earmicrophone having two receiver terminals and two common terminals for a microphone and a switch in a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal senses a switch-on of the earmicrophone by mechanical connection between an earmicrophone jack and a jack connector during an earmicrophone connection. The mobile terminal stores information about an earmicrophone state detected by the jack connector. Upon detection of the switch-on of the earmicrophone, the mobile terminal reads the earmicrophone state information from the memory. If the read earmicrophone state indicates earmicrophone disconnection, the mobile terminal mutes transmission and reception, determining that the switch-on is a transient phenomenon.

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for storing telephone number in a mobile terminal is provided to conveniently perform without an additional menu selection manipulation. CONSTITUTION: If a telephone number storing command is requested, a control unit offers a name input request message to a user(201,203). If a name is inputted, the control unit matches the inputted name with a phone book list(205,207). If the inputted name does not exist in the phone book list, the control unit creates the inputted name(209,213). The control unit stores the created name to the phone book list with the telephone number.

Abstract:
A circuit and method of processing malfunction of a hall effect switch used for recognition of an open/close state of a flip or folder of a terminal. The circuit includes an output terminal of the hall effect switch for outputting a first-state or second-state signal that indicates the open/close state of the flip or folder by sensing change of a magnetic field according to opening/closing of the flip or folder, a flip/folder-state input terminal for transferring the first-state or second-state signal to a control section of the terminal, a first pull-up resistor connected to the flip/folder-state input terminal, a ripple-removing capacitor connected to the flip/folder-state input terminal, and a second resistor of which one terminal is connected to the output terminal of the hall effect switch and the other terminal is connected to a connection point of the first resistor and the capacitor.

PURPOSE: An apparatus for turning power on by pushing any key is provided to turn power on by pressing any key by a user in a state that a system power is turned off. CONSTITUTION: A keypad(110) has a plurality of keys comprising a bipolar contact. A regulator(400) is a device for supplying system power. When the regulator(400) is enabled by receiving a predetermined control, battery power is inputted to the regulator(400), thereby outputting system power. When any key among keys of the keypad(110) is inputted by a user, a control unit(700) generates power on/off signal to a first state in order that the power is supplied continuously until power off signal is sensed although the user does not push the key continuously.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for confirming an ear microphone state in a communication terminal is provided to recognize a switch-on in an ear microphone connected state by using the combination of a jack connection detection signal and a switch-on detection signal. CONSTITUTION: A controller monitors a jack detection signal and a switch detection signal(901). The controller decides whether a state change is generated in the signals(903). If so, the controller checks whether both of the signals are 'high'(905). If not, the controller performs corresponding operations(919), and if 'high', the controller reads right prior states of the two detection signals(907). The controller analyzes the read prior states to check whether both of the prior states of the detection signals are 'low'(909). If so, the controller mutes transmission and receiving(911). The controller checks the switch detection signal(913). The controller checks whether the switch detection signal is 'low'(915). If not, the controller returns to the step 913, and if 'low', the controller releases the transmission and receiving mute(917), and returns to a standby state(919). If both of the prior states are not 'low' in the step 909, the controller checks a 'high'-maintained time of the switch detection signal(921). The controller checks whether the maintained time is over a pre-decided time(923). If so, the controller automatically dials the last call number(927), and if not, the controller displays the last call number stored in a memory on an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)(927).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A static electricity preventing apparatus of a mobile terminal is provided to prevent static electricity from passing through devices such as a microphone, a receiver, a buzzer and so one which are installed at a terminal by changing the structures of the devices. CONSTITUTION: A speaker(20) is coated with a conductor or a conductive material(30) to have conductivity. A conductive terminal is added to the conductor or the conductive material(30) and connected to a place(24)(that is, a ground) which is relatively stable for static electricity. When static electricity is applied to the speaker(20) of a mobile terminal from an external source, static electricity is moved to the place(24) through the conductive terminal connected to the conductor on the speaker, rather than being coming to a signal line(21) connected to a system(22). Accordingly, because static electricity is not inputted to the signal line(21) connected to the system(22), the system(22) is not affected. At the side of the static electricity, since the impedance between the conductive terminal connected to the speaker and the ground(24) is far smaller than an impedance between the signal line(21) of the speaker(20) and the system(22), the static electricity is moved through a path between the conductive terminal connected to the speaker and the ground.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A charging current control apparatus and method thereof are provided to prevent the over boost of charging current by selectively operating a CC(Constant Current) mode by maintaining battery power as a reference value. CONSTITUTION: A charging module(610) provides charging current to a battery(620). The charging module operates a CV(Constant Voltage) mode or a CC mode which maintains a charging current as a fixed value. The CV mode maintains battery power as a reference value. A control unit(630) controls a mode to maintain the CC mode in a charging state. The control unit controls the mode to maintain the CV mode in the battery power state which the battery power is arranged to the reference value. The control unit controls the mode to maintain the CC mode in one or more time sections after the battery power is arranged to the reference value.
