PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for operating a broadcast service domain divided into two sections in a wireless communications system are provided to supply the broadcast service in an MBS(Multicast Broadcast Service) zone and improve macro diversity gain about a broadcast service. CONSTITUTION: A controller(410) confirms a broadcast service area partitioning according to a channel condition to two to domain frames. A modulation decision unit decides a channel modulation mode of each domain in consideration of the channel condition about the domain frame. A communications unit(400) transmits the channel modulating mode decided with each domain frame. According to the broadcast service domain is the interference by the neighboring base center, it separates to the first area which does not receive the influence of interference and the second part receiving the influence of interference. A base stations locating in the first area uses the same resources, and the time and channel modulating mode. The same broadcast data is transmitted.

Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus and method for recovering a communication link between a Mobile Station (MS) and a Base Station System (BSS) in a mobile communication system when the communication link is disconnected while a communication service is in progress. When detecting the disconnection, the MS stores information of the communication link. If the MS acquires synchronization with the BSS within a predetermined time period from the detection, it resumes the communication service through the communication link. Upon the disconnection, the BSS stores resource and other information of the MS. If the BSS detects that the MS has acquired synchronization with the BSS within the predetermined time period from the disconnection, the BSS resumes the communication service through the communication link. This ensures a stable communication service in a mobile communication system that has many radio dead zones where the MS cannot normally receive services.
Abstract:
A registration response (REG_RSP) message is generated which includes a type field, a length field, and an integrated CID (Connector Identifier) field. The integrated CID field includes an integrated CID inserted thereinto. The integrated CID is configured by using a new CID assigned to the subscriber terminal and an old CID assigned to the subscriber terminal by a current serving base station. The type and length fields include type information and length information of the integrated CID respectively inserted thereinto. The generated REG_RSP message is transmitted to a handover target subscriber terminal. A traffic indicator (TRF_IND) message is generated which includes at least one short BCID (Basic Connector Identifier) field into which a short BCID is inserted. The short BCID is configured by a preset number of bits among a total of bits representing a BCID of a positive subscriber terminal that must receive traffic indication information. The generated TRF_IND is then broadcast.

본 발명은 광대역 무선 통신 시스템에서 제어 메시지를 전송하기 위한 전송 프레임 및 전송 방법을 제공한다. 이를 위한 본 발명은 다수의 업/다운 링크 구간별로 할당된 각 가입자 및 업/다운 링크 구간 사용코드(UIUC/DIDC) 정보 필드를 타입(Type), 길이(Length), 데이터 값(Value)으로 구성하고, 상기 모든 가입자들에 대한 UIUC/DIDC 정보를 업/다운 링크 버스트 프로파일에 포함하고, 상기 업/다운 링크 버스트 프로파일을 포함하는 업/다운 링크 채널 디스크립터(UCD/DCD) 메시지를 포함하는 광 대역 무선 접속 통신 시스템의 데이터 전송 프레임에 있어서, 상기 업/다운 링크 버스트 프로파일은 상기 각 가입자들의 업/다운 링크 구간 사용코드(UIUC/DIDC)를 구분하기 위한 필드를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.

A device and a method for recognizing characters input through a touch screen are provided to enable a user to input the characters fast and conveniently by making the user easily memorize keys on a keyboard in case that the user inputs the character by using a soft key character input mode on the touch screen. A user interface(104) includes more than one character input section displayed on the touch screen, and assigns a basic character and more than one extension character to each character input section. A controller(100) selects the character according to a touch pen input form inputted through the character input sections and displays the selected character. The controller displays the basic character if the touch pen input mode is one pen-click, and displays the extension character if the touch pen input mode is pen-drag to a preset direction or double pen-click.

PURPOSE: A system for controlling a sleep mode in a wireless access communication system and a method therefor are provided to enable a base station to know an awakened terminal among terminals which are in sleep mode state, based on group information, thereby reducing an unnecessary paging message transmission while increasing efficiency of a wideband wireless access communication system. CONSTITUTION: A system carries out a grouping process by paging intervals(S305). When a subscriber terminal requests a sleep mode(S310), the system determines a paging interval type of the terminal, and selects a group where the subscriber terminal is to be included(S315), then registers the terminal in the selected group(S320). The system manages group TRF-IND messages while updating the paging intervals of subscriber terminals(S325). If one of the subscriber terminals reaches a maximum paging interval(S330), the system changes a group of the corresponding terminal(S335). If any one of the terminals is not in sleep state(S340), the system confirms whether a new terminal requests a sleep mode(S345). If not, the system completes the procedure.

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a bell sound is provided to control the bell sound in consideration of previously measured peripheral noise for a noise power value, thereby automatically setting the bell sound proper to peripheral environment. CONSTITUTION: An MCU(Micro Control Unit) is in idle mode(200). The MCU checks whether a key for selecting a bell sound automatic mode is inputted(205). If so, the MCU transmits an operation control signal to a DSP(Digital Signal Processor) at prestored certain time(215). The MCU checks whether a noise power average value is stored in a shared memory(220). If so, the MCU filters the noise power average value, and determines a current noise power average value(225). The MCU compares the filtered average value with a prestored reference noise power value, and determines a level of bell sound volume(230). The MCU compares a previous bell sound size level with the determined bell sound size level(235). If the size levels are the same, the MCU checks whether a call is generated(245). If so, the MCU performs a speech mode(250).

PURPOSE: An information display device for a portable terminal and a method using the same are provided to enhance effectiveness of information view by allowing user to output already set information in proper time when user want to use a portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(130) outputs one screen. A controller(150) controls set information to be outputted in a constant time at least one of the time when a terminal enters a sleep mode or disbands a sleep mode. An input unit(120) generates input signal for the disband of sleep mode. A storage unit(140) stores the set information. A sleep timer of the controller inspects whether or not the input signal is generated during constant time.
