Abstract: A method and an apparatus for detecting a temperature of an ink-jet head are provided to detect a more accurate temperature with regard to each head chip than a method for detecting temperature about all the head chips according to the same frequency by controlling a temperature detecting frequency per each head chip. A method for detecting a temperature of an ink-jet head comprises the following steps. The amount of print data assigned to each unit head chip of the ink-jet head is detected(100). A detecting frequency of temperature information about each unit head chip is determined according to the detected amount of print data(102). The temperature information about each unit head chip is detected according to the determined detecting frequency(104).

Abstract: An ink-jet image forming device and a control method thereof are provided to control the maintenance operation of a print head according to the change of a flow rate in an ink supply path for supplying ink to the print head. An ink-jet image forming device includes a print head(800), an ink supply unit(100), an ink supply path(120), and a sensing part(200) for sensing an ink supply amount, and a control part. The control part controls the maintenance operation of the print head according to an ink supply amount sensed by the sensing part. If new ink supply is carried out via the ink supply path after discharge of ink for testing, the control part recognizes that the maintenance operation is required if an ink supply amount sensed by the sensing part is smaller than a reference value.

Abstract: A complex device having a rotatable scan module and its control method are provided to perform printing and aligning operation simultaneously and detect a defective nozzle pattern. A scan module(110) is moved between a reading position at which it reads content of printed media(140) and a detecting position at which it detects a type of print sheet(160) on which the read content of the printed media is to be recorded. A transfer unit(120) guides the print sheet along a transfer path. A controller(125) controls a movement position of the scan module. When the scan module is moved to the reading position, the controller controls the scan module to read the content of the printed media, and when the scan module is moved to the detection position, the controller controls the scan module to detect a type of the print sheet. A printing unit(130) prints the read content of the printed media on the print sheet based on the type of the detected print sheet.

Abstract: A flexible printed circuit board is provided to offer a stable power to an integrated circuit by receiving the power through a capacitor although inner devices perform a switching operation at the same time by a high speed operation of the integrated circuit. A flexible printed circuit board includes input pad units to which a power voltage and a ground voltage are inputted. A first signal line unit(142) outputs the power voltage supplied to the input pad units through an output lead. A second signal line unit(144) outputs the ground voltage supplied to the input pad units through the output lead. A high dielectric material(162) is arranged at a separation region between the first and second signal line units.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for interfacing data of a printing head chip are provided to form a return path according to a ground line by using a multiplexer when a high speed signal is transmitted to minimize signal distortion and the number of cables for connecting an output driver and the printing head chip. A data interface apparatus includes a drive module(100), connecting cables(200), and a printing head chip(300). The drive module outputs a low speed signal and a high speed signal. The connecting cables transmit the low speed signal and the high speed signal. The printing head chip performs an operation corresponding to the low speed signal or the high speed signal transmitted through the connecting cables. The drive module includes a multiplexer which performs a switching operation to ground the connecting cable in response to the high speed signal. The printing head chip includes a demultiplexer which performs a switching operation corresponding to the operation of the multiplexer.
