Abstract: A manufacturing apparatus of an optical fiber preform according to the present invention comprises: a burner unit having multiple burners, each of which generates soot through flame hydrolysis and deposits the generated soot on the core of an optical fiber preform; and a burner control unit controlling the amount of flame forming gas supplied to the multiple burners. The burner control unit reduces the amount of raw material or flame forming gas suppled to the multiple burners in a section of the burner unit corresponding to a tapered area where the diameter of the optical fiber preform is gradually reduced.
