Abstract: PURPOSE: A dielectric filter device is provided to be capable of making a resonance frequency easily adjusted in a communication system from several-giga hertz to several-ten giga hertz. Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for generating master clock in a multi-mode communication terminal equipment is provided to reduce size of hardware and implement the apparatus at low cost. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for generating master clock in a multi-mode communication terminal equipment has a reference frequency generator, a phase locked loop and a variable frequency oscillator. The reference frequency generator(201) generates the reference frequency in the basis of automatic frequency control(AFC) signal. The phase lock loop(PLL)(202) oscillates the frequency determined by phase locked loop(PLL) data in the basis of the reference frequency. The variable frequency oscillator(203, 204) varies the range of the frequency oscillated by the phase locked loop and oscillates the frequency of the varied range to output it for generation of master clock.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An up-converter in a mobile communication system is provided to make an active balun circuit using field effect transistors output a local oscillating signal and a local oscillating signal whose phase is inverted at 180 degrees, to attenuate the two local oscillating signals, so as to remove a band pass filer having a large size of output terminal and to make an output signal have a wideband bandwidth. CONSTITUTION: A transistor U1(216) inputs a power voltage signal via a coil(212) and a resistor(214) through a drain terminal, and inputs a local oscillating signal having a radio frequency(RF) band from a local oscillator through a gate terminal. The transistor U1(216) applies a local oscillating signal through a source terminal, and applies a signal whose phase is inverted at 180 degrees through the drain terminal. A field effect transistor U2(226) and a field effect transistor U3(228) equipped in an up-converter(220) input the local oscillating signal and the local oscillating signal whose phase is inverted at 180 degrees through the gate terminal. The field effect transistor U3(228) inputs a transmission signal having an intermediate frequency(IF) band. The transmission signal passes through a capacitor(230) via the drain terminal. The field effect transistor U3(228) mixes the transmission signal with the local oscillating signals, and outputs the transmission signal which is up-converted into an RF band through the source terminal. The transmission signal having the RF band is applied to an RF amplifier. The field effect transistor U2(226) and the field effect transistor U3(228) are connected to each other. The local oscillating signal and the local oscillating signal whose phase is inverted at 180 degrees are attenuated, which is caused by opposite phases, even though amplitudes of the two local oscillating signals are the same.
