Abstract:
A portable device and a photographing method thereof are provided to enable a user to adjust a focus to a desired subject on a screen and measure luminous intensity to determine exact exposure. A photographing unit(110) receives a reflected light of a subject in order to photograph an image, and converts the reflected light into an electric signal. An image processor(120) processes the electric signal, outputted from the photographing unit, to be outputted as image data. An input unit(130) processes the input from a user. A controller(140) selects a location of the subject in the image data outputted from the image processor through an input signal applied from the input unit, and moves a focus to the selected location. A display unit(150) displays the image data where the focus is moved by the controller. A storage(160) stores the image data outputted from the image processor by the controller.

본 발명은 이동통신단말기에서 터치 센서 키 응용방법에 관한 것으로, 특히 이동통신단말기에서 동작모드에 따라 터치 센서 키의 LED표시를 달리하여 사용을 편리하게 하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 발명은 이동통신단말기의 터치키 응용방법에 있어 이동통신단말기의 멀티미디어 조정 키(예;MP3 재생 ....)와 공통 키(통화, 메뉴, 정지, 네비게이션....)에 대해 하나의 영역으로 구성되는 LED를 가지며, 상기 이동통신단말기의 동작 모드로부터 멀티미디어 조정을 위한 선택이 있을시 멀티미디어 조정을 위한 키 형상의 LED가 점멸되도록 제어하고 일반 통화를 위한 버튼, 네비게이션 키 또는 기타 버튼의 키를 누르면 공통 키 형상의 LED가 점멸되도록 제어하는 과정으로 구성된다. 이에 따라 이동통신단말기의 멀티미디어 조정 키(예; MP3 재생 ....)와 공통 키(통화, 정지, 네비게이션....)에 대해 하나의 영역으로 구성할 수 있으므로 터치 키의 소형화에 도움을 줄 수 있으며, MP3 재생...등과 그 외 타 기능의 통화 모드에서 터치 센서 키에 나타나는 LED의 구동을 달리하여 표시하므로 사용상 오 조작을 방지할 수 있다. A mobile terminal and a method for processing an event received in absence are provided to allow a user to check content of an event received in his absence associated with an event icon and quickly handle it, thereby displaying a function execution image by executing a function associated with an event icon when a user touches the event icon. A display unit(17) displays a standby screen and a function execution screen. A touch keypad(23) includes a plurality of key cells. A storage unit(15) stores an event icon associated with an event to be received. An event processing unit(22) stores an event received in the absence in the standby state in the storage unit(15). When a mobile terminal is changed from the standby state to an active state, an icon extracting unit(24) extracts the event icon associated with the event received in the absence from the storage unit(15). An event display unit(26) displays the extracted event icon at a key cell of the touch keypad(23). When the event icon is touched, a function executing unit(28) executes a function associated with the touched event icon and displays it on the function execution screen of the display unit(17).

A character input method and apparatus are provided to simultaneously input the same final consonant of a character and initial consonant of a next character by pressing a corresponding key for a long time, to thus enhance an input speed. A key input unit(120) includes multiple character keys each allocated with multiple characters. An input time measuring unit(130) measures an input time of a character key. A determining unit(140) performs character combination, and discriminates whether a character corresponding to the first consonant key can be combined with the character combination in response to input of the first consonant for more than a certain time. When the character combination and the first consonant key can be combined, a controller(150) controls so that a character corresponding to the first consonant key is simultaneously displayed at a final consonant and an initial consonant of the character combination. A display unit(160) simultaneously displays the character corresponding to the first consonant key at the final consonant of the character combination and an initial consonant of a next character.
Abstract:
A keypad battery pack, a mobile terminal containing the keypad battery pack, and a method for exchanging the keypad of a mobile terminal are provided to allow different keypad battery packs to be exchanged alternatively. A keypad battery pack comprises a first surface and a second surface and is provided with a keypad formed on the first surface, and a battery terminal formed on the second surface. Preferably the keypad has a 3x4 key arrangement or a 5x4 key arrangement and/or is provided with a search key. Preferably the keypad battery pack is provided further with a key scan controller which is electrically connected with the keypad and the battery terminal to recognize the input of a specific key.

A hot key designation and display method in a mobile communication terminal and the mobile communication terminal thereof are provided to display hot keys on an idle screen together with mapped menu items according to installed positions of the hot keys, thus a user can easily know menu items mapped with hot keys even though various hot keys exist. A key input unit(150) has more than one hot key. A display(160) displays various data and images. When a hot key designation menu is selected by a user, a controller(130) displays hot key designation-available hot keys on the display in a graphic way according to positions and shapes of the keys installed on the key input unit. If one of the available keys is selected, the controller guides so that the user registers a menu item.

A character input method of a terminal having a touch screen is provided to allow a user to select a particular key displayed to be larger than a key displayed on a virtual key board and to minimize an input error according to a touch error in selecting the particular key. A controller checks whether there is an input for selecting a character input mode(31). When there is an input for selecting a character input mode, a virtual key board is displayed on a screen(33). A proximate sensor checks whether a touch device approaches a particular key of a virtual keyboard(37). When a touch device approaches the particular key, the controller displays such that a peripheral portion of the particular key is magnified(39). A touch signal receiving unit checks whether the magnified particular key region is touched by using the touch device(41). When the particular key is touched, the controller displays a character corresponding to the particular key on a character input window(43). The controller reduces the magnified particular key region so as to be restored to the virtual keyboard(45).

A method for applying a touch key sensor in a mobile terminal is provided to implement the functions of navigation keys and multimedia operation keys at the same time according to the selection of an operation mode and to reduce the whole size of a mobile terminal. If the input of an MP3 hot key is sensed(401,403), a control part confirms whether an MP3 hot key mode is in an enable state(405). In case the MP3 hot key mode is in an enable state and the MP3 hot key is inputted(407), the control part controls an LED(Light-Emitting Diode) part so that only LEDs for 5 navigation keys required for music reproduction can be driven(409). However, in case another key, not the MP3 hot key, is inputted, the control part controls the LED part to activate a common key-shaped LED(413).

A portable terminal capable of replacing an external case unit is provided to configure an external case in replacing type to offer various data input environments, while the external case can be easily detached through simple operation, thus the external case can be frequently replaced when necessary. A body unit(100) consists of a display(110) and a screen(120) for inputting data through a touching action by being located on a lower side of the display(110). An external case unit(200) is detachably replaced from the body unit(100), and comprises a data input unit(210) for inputting various data by being confronted on the screen(120), and then enables the screen(120) to be touched by a pressing action of the data input unit(210) to input desired information.
Abstract:
A portable terminal having an input module equipped with a touch sensor on a key pad and a method for controlling the same are provided to allow the input module to have various input interface environments. An input module of a portable terminal includes a body, character/number keys(621), a touch sensor(622), and a mode changing key(623). The character/number keys(621) are arranged in a predetermined shape at the first surface of the body. The character/number key(621) detects pressing and generates a key signal. The touch sensor(622) is mounted on the lower portion of the character/number key and detects a touch independently from the character/number key to generate a touch signal. The mode changing key(623) generates a mode changing signal in order to change a standard mode for activating the character/number key into a mouse mode for activating the touch sensor.
