    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for controlling duplexing of boards in a switching system of an ATM system is provided to control duplexing of many boards having standby and active states, and to expand a path where ATM cells are transmitted, thereby stably transmitting many ATM cells. CONSTITUTION: A router outputs ATM cells inputted to other board or a multiplexer to a demultiplexer(102). The demultiplexer checks a state of a board that transmits the ATM cells(104).     Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for processing a bus error in an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) matching apparatus is provided to detect the bus error by an interrupt type, monitor whether the bus error is removed, and reset a corresponding device or an ATM cell processor when the bus error is removed. CONSTITUTION: An inlet FIFO(23) stores a receiving cell and outputs the receiving cell to an ATM bus(26) by the FIFO type. A control unit interface unit(24) checks whether the inlet FIFO(23) is congested by an error of the ATM bus(26) and generates an interrupt request. An interrupt processing unit(28) checks whether the error is removed by the interrupt request, and resets the inlet FIFO(23) when the error is removed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for routing a cell of an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) is provided to supply a data bus controller transmitting the cell to an outlet queue without passing through a data bus if the input cell is sensed as a cell having an interior destination. CONSTITUTION: A head processor(311) detects a virtual path/a virtual channel from an inputted cell header, and refers to an external translation RAM(TRAM) to decide whether an inputted cell is an internal data cell having an internal destination. If so, the head processor generates an enable signal. An outlet queue has an internal data queue(411). A multiplexer(410) transmits the inputted cell to the internal data queue when the multiplexer senses that the enable signal is generated. If the multiplexer does not sense that the enable signal is generated, the multiplexer transmits the inputted cell to a receiving data queue(317).
