Abstract: The AC supply is rectified to produce the operating DC supply. The DC supply is fed to resistive dividers which supply lower DC levels to an integrated circuit. The integrated circuit controls the AC signal fed to the primary winding of the switch control transformer. Two of the secondary windings control the FET switching transistors, which discharge the series input capacitive circuit. The third secondary winding is fed to the LC resonant load circuit. The series resonant circuit consists of an inductance, one heater of the fluorescent tube, a capacitor and the other tube heater. A temperature sensor on the switching circuit heat sink can shut down the supply to the primary in case of overheating.
