    Abstract: PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus and a method thereof for minimizing aliasing are provided to increase rendering process speed while maintaining the quality of the image processing apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A mesh showing geometry information of an object of 3D model is projected on a plane of a first point of view. A first calculating unit(110) calculates the projected plane. A sampling unit(120) adaptively assigns the sampling point about mesh. A second calculating unit(130) writes out a shadow map about the sampling point.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: An image processing device and a method using the same are provided to reduce rendering operation, thereby easily enabling real-time 3D rendering. CONSTITUTION: A VPL(Virtual Point Light) sampling unit(110) selects a plurality of potential VPL by rendering of a 3D model in a light view. An influence calculating unit(130) calculates for each of the potential VPL influence on at least one surface point sampling in a camera view. The plurality of potential VPL is a final VPL candidate used in a radiosity method. A VPL selecting unit(140) selects at least one VPL among the plurality of potential VPL based on the calculated influence.
