Abstract: PURPOSE: A hard disk drive including an air deflector and a method thereof are provided to increase the stability of the disk drive by minimizing the effect of air flow toward an actuator arm by using the air deflector. CONSTITUTION: A hard disk drive(10) includes a base plate(14), a spindle motor(12) mounted on the base plate, disks(16) rotated by the spindle motor for generating air flow, an actuator arm(18) mounted on the base plate, a transducer combined with the actuator arm and the disk, and an air deflector(52) combined with the base plate and reaching out over the disk, magnet assembly posts(50) mounted on the base plate; wherein the air deflector includes a mounting area(56), and a deflector area(54) extended from the mounting area and including a plurality of fingers.
