Abstract: Provided are a lithium secondary battery including a complex anode active material and a lithium secondary battery using the same. An anode for the lithium secondary battery comprises: a complex anode active material including a metal-based anode active material and a water-soluble polymer coated on the surface of the metal-based anode active material; and a polyimide-based binder. The lithium secondary battery comprising the complex anode active material has excellent initial efficiency and service life characteristics.
