Abstract: A method and an apparatus for generating an on-screen display image using a 3D graphic are provided to allow a user to enlarge or move an object mapped with a 3D graphic image so that various user interfaces are provided. A 3D image of a 3D geometry object image is made from 3-D graphic data. The 3D graphic image is matched with 2D graphic image. The 2D graphic image is operated according to the 2D motion of the 3D graphic object. A plurality of 3D graphic images of the 3D geometric object obtained from the 3D graphic data is mapped with 2D graphic images(140,160). The 2D graphic images are moved according to 2D motions of the 3D geometry object.
