Abstract: A control method for a refrigerator is provided to cool either one or both of refrigerating and freezer compartments in abnormal conditions to improve cooling speed largely, and independently control cooling systems respectively mounted to the compartments while reducing initiation frequencies of a compressor and a fan for reducing power consumption and noise. A control method for a refrigerator includes the steps of comparing a set temperature and a real temperature of a freezer compartment(211), and comparing a set temperature and a real temperature of a refrigerating compartment(217) if the real temperature of the freezer compartment is lower than the set one thereof. If the real temperature of the refrigerating compartment is higher than the set one thereof for a preset time(250), a compressor and a refrigerating compartment fan are turned on and a freezer compartment fan is turned off to carry out cooling of the refrigerating compartment(216).

Abstract: PURPOSE: A kimchi refrigerator is provided to prevent noise caused by an impact generated during closing operation of the refrigerator door while preventing injury to human body. CONSTITUTION: A kimchi refrigerator comprises a main body cabinet(1) having a door opening(8) opened upwardly, a door(10) mounted to be rotatable onto the main body cabinet and which opens/closes the door opening, and a buffering unit interposed between the main body cabinet and the door so as to buffer the impact caused by the contact between the door and the main body cabinet during closing operation of the refrigerator door. The buffering unit includes an accommodation groove(21) formed at the main body cabinet, a compression spring(23) accommodated into the accommodation groove, and a contact member(25) one end of which is supported by one of the compression spring and the door corresponding to the accommodation groove, in such a manner that the contact member enters/exits with elasticity into/from the accommodation groove.
