Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus for tracking a target using a brightness order relationship is provided to accurately trace a target by tracing the target by using a relationship between feature points extracted from a target area and the brightness order relationship of blocks dividing the target area. CONSTITUTION: In case an input image is a first frame, a target model extractor(120) extracts a target model from the input image. If the input image is not the first frame, a target model candidate extractor(130) extracts a target candidate model from the input image. A similarity calculator(140) calculates the similarity of a brightness value about each coordinate between the extracted target model and the target candidate model.
