Abstract: PURPOSE: A knee joint supporting device using a length varying mechanism is provided to match the motion trace of the supporting device with the actual curve and extension of knee joints. CONSTITUTION: A knee joint supporting device using a length varying mechanism comprises the following: a thigh frame and a shin frame combined to a knee joint unit; the knee joint unit including a sliding slot(35) limiting the maximum rotation angle range of, protruded by the length change of the motion trace of knee joints and calf parts of a user; an upper frame(30) coupled to the thigh frame; a lower frame(31) coupled to the shin frame; a knee joint driving frame(32) rotatably combined to the upper frame, and fixed to the lower frame; a linear guide(36) formed on the knee joint driving frame; a rotation guide(34) separated from the knee joint driving frame for inserting the linear guide and the lower frame; a sliding slot formed on the rotation guide; a cam follower(37) formed on the lower frame, and inserted to the sliding slot; and an actuator(38) providing the torque to the knee joint driving frame.
