The tool horn is vibrated with the ultrasonic excitation. The fine pattern processing unit is offered to the section of the tool horn facing the surface of a plastic base material(20) and is touched with the surface of the plastic substrate. The fine pattern processing unit forms the complementary pattern to the fine pattern of the plastic substrate. The plastic substrate is putted on the die. The pressing unit at least pressurizes one between the tool horn and plastic substrate about the other one.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A micro shaping apparatus using ultrasonic waves for a polymer substrate is provided to prevent lateral movement and vertical vibration of a substrate during ultrasonic vibration of a shaping unit. CONSTITUTION: A micro shaping apparatus using ultrasonic waves for a polymer substrate comprises a substrate(1), a tool horn(2), a vibrator(3), and a side constraining member. The tool horn includes a shaping part having patterns complementary to patterns to be transferred on the surface of the substrate. The vibrator vibrates the tool horn with ultrasonic wave. The side constraining member is arranged on the side of the substrate and prevents the lateral movement of the substrate. The side constraining member comprises a first portion contacting the side of the substrate and a second portion extended from the first portion to be a specific distance spaced from the shaping part.
