Abstract: A photovoltaic apparatus and a maximum power control method for the same are disclosed. The photovoltaic apparatus includes a photovoltaic power generation unit which converts solar energy into electric energy; a power converting unit which is connected to the photovoltaic power generation unit to convert a first power outputted by the photovoltaic power generation unit into a second power required by load; and the load which is connected to the power converting unit to consume the second power. The maximum power control method for the photovoltaic apparatus comprises the steps of: measuring terminal voltage and output current values of the photovoltaic power generation unit at each predetermined sampling time while dropping a terminal voltage of the photovoltaic power generation unit up to a minimum voltage which can be provided from a terminal of the photovoltaic power generation unit; measuring a terminal voltage and output current values of the photovoltaic power generation unit at each predetermined sampling time while boosting the terminal voltage of the photovoltaic power generation unit, dropped up to the minimum voltage, up to a maximum voltage which can be provided from both terminals of the photovoltaic power generation unit; and setting, to a maximum power output voltage of the photovoltaic power generation unit, a terminal voltage in which the multiplication of the measured terminal voltage and output current values of the photovoltaic power generation unit is the maximum.
