Abstract:
PURPOSE: A waveguide for a medium and a method for transmitting SH waves to an excitation device and a media are provided to block SH waves of modes higher than a secondary mode by using a waveguide and to transmit only SH waves of a primary mode. CONSTITUTION: A waveguide(20) comprises an excitation unit(21), a transmitting unit(23), and a connection unit(22). The excitation part is excited by an excitation unit and formed in a flat plate form. The transmitting unit transmits SH waves generated by the excitation unit to a medium of a bulk form and is formed into a flat plate form thicker than the excitation part. The connection unit is in contact with the excitation part and the transmitting unit respectively. The connection unit gets thicker from a portion contacting to the excitation part to a portion contacting to the transmitting portion.

본발명의목적은벌크형태의매질에대해원하는패턴으로 SH 웨이브를전달할수 있는가진장치와이 장치를이용한 SH 웨이브의전달방법을제공하는것이다. 또한, 이과정에서벌크형태의매질에원하는패턴의 SH 웨이브를전달할수 있도록돕는웨이브가이드를제공하는것이다. 이를위하여본 발명에서는, 가진유닛에의해가진되는것으로평판형태로만들어진가진부; 벌크형태의매질에상기가진유닛에서발생된 SH 웨이브를전달하는것으로상기가진부에비해두께가두꺼운평판형태로만들어진전달부; 및상기가진부와상기전달부에각각접하는것으로상기가진부에접하는부분으로부터상기전달부에접하는부분으로갈수록두께가변화하는연결부를구비하는웨이브가이드를제공하고, 이웨이브가이드를사용하는가진장치와이 가진장치를사용하는 SH 웨이브전달방법을제공한다.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A segmented magnetostrictive patch array transducer, a structure diagnosis device having the transducer and a method for operating the transducer are provided to inspect more precise fault in a structure such as a rod or pipeline by generating strong shear wave. CONSTITUTION: A segmented magnetostrictive patch array transducer(200) comprises magnetostrictive patches(201), insulators(203), meander coils(204) and magnets(206). The magnetostrictive patches are attached to the circumference of a rod member(202). The insulators are arranged on the respective magnetostrictive patches. Each of the meander coils has multiple coil lines which are extended in the circumferential direction of the rod member on each insulator, wherein electric currents of opposite flow directions flow in the adjacent coil lines. The magnets form a magnetic field of the rod circumference direction on each magnetostrictive patch. When electric current is applied to one or more of the meander coils, the magnetostrictive patches positioned in the selected meander coils are deformed to generate shear wave in the rod member.
